The Glendale Library, Arts & Culture Department - on behalf of the City's Arts and Culture Commission (ACC) - is accepting proposals from artists who would like to temporarily display artwork in the Adams Square Mini Park Gas Station (ASMPGS). The ASMPGS is a historic 1936 Streamline Modern Gas Station listed on the Glendale Register of Historic Resources. The Gas Station is a 12'x12'x12' cube with acrylic windows all around, so installations can be experienced from every angle. Art is displayed on a rotational basis in the ASMPGS. Artists whose work is chosen for installation at the ASMPGS will receive a stipend of $1,000 in addition to a production budget of up to $1,500 for a total maximum stipend of $2,500. Applications are received on a year-round basis and will be reviewed annually in the Spring. This is a unique opportunity for artists to showcase their work to the Glendale community. Those interested in participating should apply soon to be considered for the 2023-2024 year!
Art installations at the Adams Square Mini Park Gas Station are sponsored by the Glendale Arts and Culture Commission and Glendale Community Services and Parks.
