Below are open Calls for Artists sponsored by the Arts & Culture Commission. Each Call for Artists has specific guidelines & eligibility relative to the program. Please thoroughly read the guidelines & eligibility before applying.
2026 Performance Series Call for Artists

The Library, Arts & Culture Department of the City of Glendale - on behalf of the City's Arts & Culture Commission (ACC) - are accepting proposals from qualified candidates who would like to participate in its Performance Series Program. Performance groups must be made of trios or larger. Performers of all musical genres based within the Southern California region may submit proposals.

Performances for the Brand Summer Music Series are scheduled for Fridays in Summer 2025 from 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM. The ACC will fund selected performance groups a stipend of $2,000 per performance. Performances for the Jewel City Concert Series are scheduled for Saturdays in Fall 2025 from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM. The ACC will fund selected performance groups a stipend of up to $1,500 per performance.​

Citywide Public Art Landmarks RFQ

As part of the City of Glendale’s initiative to become a prime arts and culture destination, up to ten long-term to permanent artwork installations will be commissioned, developed and established over the course of the next few years. This RFQ is for three different project opportunities in the City of Glendale. The aim for all three artwork opportunities is to create world-class public artwork in a diverse range of mediums that are designed to engage the community, and showcase the cultural diversity of the City and enhance the various civic and public spaces.
This RFQ is for qualifications only. A shortlist of artists will be selected from the applicants to move on to the next stage of developing concepts to present to the Glendale Arts & Culture Commission. These finalists will receive a stipend for their concept design work. Applicants should not propose a concept when applying to the RFQ.

Adams Square Mini Park Gas Station

The Glendale Library, Arts & Culture Department - on behalf of the City's Arts & Culture Commission - is accepting proposals from artists who would like to temporarily display artwork in the Adams Square Mini Park Gas Station (ASMPGS). The City's Community Services & Parks Department owns the ASMPGS, a historic 1936 Streamline Modern Gas Station building listed on the Glendale Register of Historic Resources. Art is displayed on a rotational basis in the ASMPGS.
Artists whose work is chosen for installation at the ASMPGS will receive a stipend of $1,000 in addition to a production budget of up to $1,500 for a total maximum stipend of $2,500. Applications are received on a year-round basis and are reviewed annually in February.
