ARTIST OPPORTUNITIES

Performance Series

Deadline to apply: January 26, 2024 at 5pm (PST)

The Glendale Library, Arts & Culture Department - on behalf of the City's Arts and Culture Commission (ACC) - is accepting proposals from Music ensembles of trios or larger to participate in applying for the performance series.

The Jewel City Concert Series is a festive outdoor concert series taking pace in the fall at the Artsakh Paseo located in the Downtown Arts & Entertainment District. Performances are scheduled for Saturdays in October from 5:00pm-6:00pm and must be 1 set of 1 hour in duration. Performance groups will receive a stipend of up to $1,200 per performance. 

The Brand Summer Music Series is an outdoor concert series located on the hillside area behind the Brand Library and Art Center. Performances are scheduled for Fridays from 7:00pm-8:30pm and must be 1 set of 1 hour and 30 minutes in duration. Performance groups will receive a stipend of up to $1,700 per performance.

Public Art Landmarks RFQ

Deadline to apply: January 19, 2024 at 5pm (PST)

The Glendale Library, Arts & Culture Department - on behalf of the City's Arts and Culture Commission (ACC) - is accepting applications from artists who would like to participate in submitting for the Public Art Landmarks - Request for Qualifications (RFQ).

 

Selected Artists or Artist Teams will be invited to create a RFP (Request for Proposal) and tasked with delivering site specific concepts and designs. These
invited Artists will be provided a stipend upon submitting responses. The stipend totals will depend on their individual location opportunities. 

 

Three opportunities are included as part of this RFQ: 1) Montrose Circular Benches, 2) Fremont Park Basketball Court Mural and 3) 134 Freeway/Patterson Ave. Pedestrian Tunnel. Applicants should submit their resume, portfolio and qualifications (not design renderings for each opportunity).

Reflecting on its diverse population, history and innovation in public spaces, the City seeks to further enrich the day-to-day experiences of the community with its emphasis on the importance of arts and culture.

Adams Square Mini Park Gas Station

Deadline to apply: On-Going

The Glendale Library, Arts & Culture Department - on behalf of the City's Arts and Culture Commission (ACC) - is accepting proposals from artists who would like to temporarily display artwork in the Adams Square Mini Park Gas Station (ASMPGS). The City's Community Services & Parks Department (CSP) owns the ASMPGS, a historic 1936 Streamline Modern Gas Station building listed on the Glendale Register of Historic Resources. Art is displayed on a rotational basis in the ASMPGS.

 

Artists whose work is chosen for installation at the ASMPGS will receive a stipend of $1,000 in addition to a production budget of up to $1,500 for a total maximum stipend of $2,500. Applications are received on a year-round basis and will be reviewed annually in the Spring.

Storefront Art Program

Deadline to apply: On-Going

The Glendale Library, Arts & Culture Department) - on behalf of the City’s Arts & Culture Commission (ACC) -  is accepting proposals from qualified candidates who would like to participate in the Storefront Art Program.  Submissions are ongoing.

The ACC will provide an artist stipend of $1,000 in addition to a production stipend of up to $1,500 for a total maximum stipend of $2,500 per participating artist. The installations may be exhibited for a minimum of 6 weeks.
